A Christian Response to the Climate Challenge of Our Generation
A Christian Response to the Climate Challenge of Our Generation
What if we took God’s call to care for people and our planet seriously?
In a world where changes in climate deepens poverty and threatens communities we love, we have an opportunity – and responsibility – to respond with hope and action.
Anglican Overseas Aid CEO Jo Knight invites you to discover faithful, practical pathways forward in her new book, Called to Care: for people and planet.

Published by InterVarsity Press UK, Called to Care weaves together powerful stories of people across the globe, grounded in theological reflection and practical wisdom.
Called to Care is a powerful discipleship tool.
The book is divided into three parts, each with a call and response:
First, we begin with our shared biblical values and the call of God’s plan for all creation. In response we look at holistic transformation and inspiring stories of the Church at its best.
Second, we describe and name the problem and listen to global perspectives of those most impacted and facing harm.
Third, we consider the part we play and tune into our own calling, and how we can respond and step into something bigger.
Through inspiring stories, creative reflection and biblical teaching, come to understand and connect creation and justice to your faith and be equipped with practical tools for action.

In the face of Kenya’s erratic rains, prolonged droughts, and unpredictable weather, hope is rising.
Anglican Overseas Aid’s partner, the Anglican Church of Kenya, is pioneering climate-resilient solutions that protect both lives and livelihoods. Communities are learning to grow crops that thrive in hotter, drier conditions. Farmers are being trained in sustainable practices that restore degraded land and create food security for their families, even as weather patterns shift.
Through disaster preparedness training and community-led initiatives, families are building resilience against each new hazard. By tapping into the knowledge that local women carry about caring for creation, we're seeing change multiply throughout entire communities.
These are just some of the stories that inspired Called to Care. They remind us that when we walk alongside our global family, we become part of God's renewal in creation.
